EM 510 - Advanced Engineering Economics (3-0-3)

Monetary interest computations principles and methods. It also studies the effect of inflation, depreciation and taxes, cost accounting and estimation, risk, uncertainty and sensitivity analysis, capital budgeting, advanced asset replacement analysis. Advanced topics in engineering economics include: overcome multiple IRR solutions difficulty for non-simple cash flows, real options analysis and cash flow transform techniques. The use of computers spreadsheets is emphasized through periodic assignments and real life case studies. Prerequisite: Graduate Standing - Student cannot get credit for this course and CEM 518
