Overview of core business disciplines including economics, accounting, finance, marketing, management, supply chain management, entrepreneurship, management information systems, and operations; integrated study of business decision-making frameworks; application of concepts to dynamic real-world business problems; development of critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills for complex business environments. This is a deficiency course; not counted toward the PhD degree.

The philosophy of business research, research methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed), research problem/gap/question, theoretical foundation, literature review, study design (cross-sectional, longitudinal, experimental), study variables and measurement scales, development and validation of a research instrument, sampling and data collection, data analysis, interpretation and report preparation. Research impact on theory, practice, and society. Research ethics and integrity.
Graduate students are required to attend seminars given by faculty members, visiting scholars, practicing managers and fellow graduate students. Additionally, each student must deliver at least one presentation on a contemporary business research topic. Among other things, this course is designed to give the student an overview of how to conduct research, apply research methodology, comply with journal specifications and submission requirements, and on membership of professional societies. The course grade is a Pass or Fail.
This course allows the Master of Science student to conduct independent research on an advanced problem in his/her field of specialization/track under the supervision of one of the professors. (S)he expects to provide a public seminar and a written report by the end of the semester. To register for the course, (s)he should find a professor willing to work with him/her, submit a proposal, and fill out the required form to get the approval of the academic department and the KBS's Assistant Deanship for Graduate Programs before the start of the semester. Prerequisite: Consent of the Instructor
The student will spend two consecutive semesters conducting a thorough research in a topic in his concentration under the supervision of a faculty member in the concentration area. A well-written, defensible thesis is the expected outcome of this integral degree component.

This doctoral-level research course enables PhD candidates to conduct independent, supervised research within their area of specialization. The course aims to deepen research competence by engaging students in a focused study addressing a theoretical or empirical question that contributes to their dissertation or a publishable paper. Students will work closely with a faculty advisor, develop a research plan, analyze data (where applicable), present findings in a public seminar, and produce a scholarly report in journal-article format. This course cannot be counted for PhD degree requirements for Direct PhD students-those who do not possess an MS degree in BS.

This course enables the student to submit his Ph.D. Dissertation Proposal and defends it in public. The student passes the course if the Ph.D. The dissertation committee accepts the submitted dissertation proposal report and upon successfully passing the Dissertation proposal public defense. The course grade can be NP, NF, or IP.

The student will spend 2 to 3 years conducting thorough research on their dissertation. This dissertation is an independent faculty-supervised research project within the candidate’s field of specialization. The student enhances research skills by formulating and addressing a specific theoretical and/or empirical question, advancing the dissertation, and resulting in work suitable for publication. Formats typically include either a single monograph or a three-essay/manuscriptbased dissertation, subject to program policy. It requires an approved proposal, satisfactory progress reviews, a public oral defense, and final submission of the dissertation according to university rules.
