Theoretical and programming aspects of artificial intelligence techniques with applications to various areas of petroleum engineering and geosciences. Basics of Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Genetic Programming, support vector machine, clustering algorithms along with their applications in geophysical prospecting, geological analysis, reservoir characterization, reservoir engineering, drilling engineering and production operations. Individual projects utilizing commercial software to solve real problems will be used.
