Introduction to world civilizations; history of early modern and late modern Europe; history of East Asia; history of the Middle East and North Africa; history of the Americas; history of Sub-Saharan Africa; history of modern economy; history of science and technology; overview and evaluation of socio-historical developments since 1500.

Understand and explain human behavior using psychological concepts, theories, and scientific methods; human activities including processing information and world perception, learning, remembering; behavioral energizers such as motivation, emotions, and changing (development); mental processes encompassing critical thinking and creatively; individual differences in relation to intelligence and personality; mental health in life and work focusing on stress, adaptation, and coping; social interactions and influences; application of psychology in business.

Introduction to sociological imagination and sociological research methods; sociological theories and theoretical integration; socialization, social interactions, social groups, organizations, and institutions; social stratification including social mobility; social control and regulation focusing on authority and state, and social responses to crime and deviance; economic, social, and cultural change; business culture and economic resilience in Saudi Arabian society focusing on themes like industrialization, urbanization, and Vision 2030.

The nature of the international community and how states interact; the emergence of a global system of states; theories of international relations and the factors that affect the international community; foreign policy analysis; aspects related to international relations such as international law, United Nations and other organizations; international political economy with emphasis on international trade, international finance and multi-national corporations; regional and international current issues; the future of international relations.

Introduction to cultural anthropology and anthropological theories; the concept of culture and its relationship with language, identity, and individual; subsistence patterns and economics focusing on the allocation of natural resources, production, distribution, consumption, and exchange; social organization in relation to kinship and descent, marriage and the family, and social stratification; the field of business anthropology that includes doing business in different cultures, public relations and marketing, and corporate organization in the context of the globalization of world economies; development and concepts of applied anthropology and its role in solving social issues in a globalized world; anthropology of the Middle East focusing on digital society as well as cultural heritage and tourism from Saudi Vision 2030 perspective.

Introduction to business psychology; research and application of business psychology; individual differences and the foundation and procedures of assessment in business organizations; psychological aspects of business organizational processes related to employee selection and recruitment, job analysis, and performance measurement; psychological health, wellbeing, and attitude toward work and business; teams, leadership, and other organizational dynamics in business.

The study of the social nature of humans in groups and organization; social psychology notions and development; the scientific methods of social psychology; the influence of heredity and culture on the individual; the development of the components of the self; an introduction to social cognition including person perception, stereotyping, and prejudice in life and business contexts; the foundations of social influence including compliance, persuasion, and obedience; understanding the processes that drive prosocial and antisocial behavior; a comparative approach to the nature of belonging and social relationships in social and business organizations; the effects of groups on the individual and vice-versa: group and the self, power, status, and leadership.

Introduction to mass media, its importance, and concepts and business models; types and functions of mass media; theories of mass media; media’s role in society and culture including cultural transmission and cultural intrusion; media’s use in the framing of issues, media power and its various effects; marketing and mass media; issues governing mass media such as law, ethics, objectivity, and control; current and future trends in mass media; history and development of mass media in the Middle East.

An overview of work as a social concept; understanding human work and its changing patterns in different periods of society; the evolution and development of industrial society and its influence on human labor, work, and productivity; sociological theories and dimensions of human work; effects of industrialization; business in the contemporary world including work, management, work conditions, work issues, work regulations, and business culture; the intersection of human work with value, identity, and prestige in society; modernization, industrialization, and digitalization; the changing business trends in Saudi Arabia.

Overview of electricity generation, transmission, distribution, power plant economics, regulations, and policies used in new technologies (IoT, Data analysis, Smart metering), big data management in energy projects, role of a digital industry 4.0 in a renewable energy system, review of existing energy policies, world electricity market and energy security, electricity price regulations, future market trends, and derivatives, environmental impacts, policy planning.
