Master in Geophysics

Description

Masters degrees are designed to provide very advanced academic and professional knowledge and skill for students who have completed a bachelor degree with a high level of achievement, normally a GPA of 3.0 or better. The Master of Science (MS) curriculum is designed to develop advanced understanding through research and creativity of a wide range of geophysical methods in hydrocarbon exploration with a focus primarily on data acquisition, processing, and interpretation. Furthermore, students will become familiar with recent geophysical developments through a range of coursework and investigative projects. Students have the option to pursue a thesis-inclusive Master of Science degree (MS) as either full-time or part-time students, or a non-thesis-based Master of Geophysics (M Geop) degree. The latter is often preferred by part-time students working in the industry.
