Description

The Aerospace Engineering Department offers a Graduate Program leading to a Master of Science (MS) in Aerospace Engineering. The program focuses on academic excellence as well as the professional development of graduate students. The graduate students are expected to demonstrate competence and creativity in a variety of professional requirements. The AE MS program emphasizes the application of theoretical principles to practical problems in the field of Aerospace Engineering and helps in providing KSA with the high-caliber professional engineers that are needed for the development of the country.

The AE MS program has been ​​designed to continually evolve by taking account of modern trends and the latest developments in the area of Aerospace Engineering. The graduate courses are designed to provide the student with the opportunity to deepen and broaden his knowledge base in the respective subjects and motivate him to sharpen his skills in problem solving, creative thinking, research, technical report writing and presentation. The graduate student is also provided with opportunities to improve his skills in conducting experiments for the validation of analytical and computational models.

Program Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for possible admission in Master programs in engineering or sciences are as below:

  • A four-year Bachelor’s (BS) Degree in engineering or science from a recognized institution with a major in the proposed field or evidence of suitable background for entering the proposed field.
  • A Grade-Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent (For Scholarship Applicants) or 2.50 or higher on a scale of 4.00 or equivalent (For Non Scholarship Applicants).
  • Completion of TOEFL with a minimum score of 520 (PBT), 190 (CBT) or 70 (IBT). The TOEFL score must be sent directly to the College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies (KFUPM code is 0868). IELTS is also acceptable (min 6.0).
  • Two letters of recommendation, preferably from the faculty who taught the applicant university-level courses [to be submitted through the online recommendation system].
  • Satisfactorily meeting any additional departmental or university admission requirements.
